DNA and all that
I'd love to see an analysis of how similar our DNA is to plants, or trees, or elephants, or stars. I do think that chimps are special creatures, but feel the theory is a little played out. I generally like innovation with science and thought, and once hypothesis is described, the argument goes flat. Tell me something I haven't heard or don't know about! ;) and my apologies to those who i've offended by calling chimps apes, or monkeys. :)
I do see how playful and intelligent they are and we are. I do see how impressionable we are. I happen to know a chimp trainer---he's an interesting guy. He gets along with chimps like I do with plants and other animals, and kids. Kinda cool. i'll find photos and post em.

That's true. It's just that every time a child reaches elementary school and hears about Jane Goodall and sees a picture of a baby chimp it just makes them all want to be biologists and find some way to get closer to them....like sitting around dicussing how alike we are. I'm like that with my partner sometimes--it's just so fun to be like, "oh my god, I was JUST going to say that!!" ha ha
ReplyDeleteBut I agree I want to talk about how we can understand our wood element by relating to a tree. That's pretty far out, and I must say I have admired many a tree spirit around these parts!
