Energy efficiency

Our lifestyle as we know it consumes a ton of energy. Ethically and morally it is our responsibility to simplify as humankind leans more towards the brink of being not so welcome on the planet.

To reconsider the impact our simple daily activities cause on a global scale is a continual process and an informed decision.

And our gadgets! How hooked is everyone on the iphone! I know I am. I have two! It kills me to hear how much "water" they consume. When it comes down to it we can never really comprehend the impact of our wireless chips and the "unobtainium" minerals dredged from the precious landscape we call home. Listening to NPR i'll occasionally hear stories about how this impacts women in villages, and essentially comes down to raping them, and our precious mother Earth. Sadly so many of us are so displaced from the reality of such occurances and all we want is convenience..and who are we to blame? I don't want to live with guilt---better yet---knowing the profound influence our choices to live lightly have and the ripples it creates as we make effort to conserve, reuse and reduce.

I know the planet can cope. I know the planet can mend. I know the planet is in perfect harmony and balance all the time. And we are but a wrinkle in her erosion and can be flicked off in a blink or a jolt.

I know the feminine and all encompassing solution exists and can maintain---I think this has to do with a global shift and awakening happening currently as we move into the "age of aquarius" learning to live in and with the "informationsphere" we've created by our choices.

  1. does our lifestyle "consume" energy? or does it just transform it into stiff bodies and headaches? guess its not such a bad thing, it keeps me in business.

  2. our lifestyle does require energy, so yes, it must consume it. Although, "efficiency" can be applied here too, and the laws of conservation as well. When we over extend, or over use our energy reserves, we get a screaming signal...we can attend to this or learn to read the subtle cues. And indeed! bodywork and acupuncture are such great ways to regain balance, and stay that way.
