genes and natural selection

we are each born with a finite amount of genes. this amount is directly influenced by the choices we make in our day to day lives. I like to think genes are still being influence, just as cells continue to phagocytize, and flora continues to repopulate. Once all of these other elements of the body system are incorporated, perhaps genes don't have much influence at all!
